Top Of The Heap Of Tires
Almost 3 Years Old
A little boy in India saw a butterfly cacoon. He so badly wanted to open it up to see what was inside so he did , against the teacher's warnings, not to. When he opened it the little, developing creature inside died because it wasn't yet ready to face this world, nor to leave its comfortable cacoon of warmth and peace and love-its wings still needed to flap and gain strength, in order to be able to fly, once it was ready to...the little boy learned he needed to wait, not touch and be still and patient. Again, he saw a cacoon; a new one this time. He simply, as hard as it was to wait and be patient and not help the butterfly emerge... did not touch the cacoon.... rather he went off to meditate and to pray and to play.When he one day returned , he heard the butterfly within, wings fluttering strong...it was now ready to leave its special home and fly free.The little boy held his breath as he watched in wonder as each wing carefully unfolded, touching air and earth for the first time! As it flew beautifully anew , the boy grew to know with much wisdom, in his life , with his dreams to dare wait, and be patient; with others to pray for them , to not touch , but to yield in grace to Gods wonderful, unfolding ways...amen love, Paula

As I walked with my two yr old son, in the quiet June day... we walked up on a hill to a tiny old church. On the ground was a beautiful pastel baby -blue birds egg , open...it touched my soul with pure joy! I put it into my pocket. Simple are Gods true gifts...I reflected on how the open egg is a sign to let my son go and grow , trusting Jesus' great loving presence and guidance daily...the wisdom gained through silent meanderings leads us back to the heart that is love...we stepped into the church, so full of light which reflected off the stained glass; true happiness was felt as I whispered to Jamesey, 'shh, shh...' he repeated back to mommy,
'shhh, shhh ' smiling... as was I...he excitedly pointed to 're!, re!' the Virgin Mary , his forever mother as his blue eyes grew ever-big in the wonder of it all.. Later, I discovered the egg was not in my pocket and it was all right; I let it go and it remains forever a piece of my son and me in his 2nd year...sweet Jesus, may we always trust in your plans and truth your gifts are grace and life...Amen

EARLY MORNING
Early morning my heart awakens to write
Total silence is alive
I enjoy many Pita Bites and peace
The sound of our fish tank is a waterfall overflowing is my heart and soul
I thank God everyday for all He gives and takes away
I peek in on our son sleeping
His beautiful face is an Angel's shiny and full of light in the dark of night
I feel and know the meaning of a smile coming from somewhere deep within it is natural and free
God bless you I say touching our son without thinking
It comes easily and he is a blessing so pure radiant as life
Amazing beauty is his pure child's heart forever free and meant to be
